chaps, just a little one this. You know the passenger front seat, and how it easily slides forwards to let people into the back? well, this is great, but isn't the front seat adjustable on the sliders? So if someone gets in with long legs, cant I adjust the seat to be fixed further forwards?

My old seats didn't do it, and neither do my newer leather ones.

no big problem, doesn't even bother me really, but for those odd occasions when you want to lock the seat further forward on the rails it would be handy..!:worship:

And mine. 2003 3 door JTD 115. There should be a lever under the front of the seat just like on the driver's side.

Thing is, you have to adjust the forward-backward position of the seat (by pulling the tab under the front-right) BEFORE you release the backrest with the lever on the side.

Once you've released the backrest, the seat base will only lock into its previous position, which is difficult if someone has climbed in the back or if you have folded/lifted the rear seats AND the front seat was previously slid all the way back.

FIAT solved this with a new design on the 500 - on those, the backrest lever must be operated a second time to fold the backrest back into position, and at that point, the seat base is locked in whatever position it happens to be.

Please help!

Lock mechanism on the passenger seat is blocked. Due to this, the seat runs back and forward as I drive - pretty annoying - can't drive nobody like this on it.

I think that the leaver that enables seat to slide is jammed in the 'enable' position and I can't get it back to lock the seat on any position.

Any advice is most welcome!

should be fixable. You might need to remove the seat though to get easier access to the mechanism - you will probably find something is jamming the mechanism.

Thank You very much! (y)

It was exactly something like that. The seat is now fixed and it wasn't hard to pull it out of the car.

What was jamming the system I can't tell. When it unjammed no debris or coins or anything was found on the floor. It seams that it jammed just to give me a hard time.:D

For future problems like this i suggest You pull out the seat and try to figure out how this simple system works. In the process it will unjam itself.;)
