Help!
the dash warning message on a Fiat Stilo says... in italian... Av. Spia Freni... which is normally break pads (from what i've seen in my searches)...
But the break pads have been changed... Any suggestions? I think the abs was checked as well... but warning message still there...

I dunno what the english equivalent is... otherwise i'd search that as well... but been reading forums in italian to figure it out... without success...

Stumped.

The car was also connected to a diagnosis computer... and no faults appear!

Av. Spia Freni = Brake failure indicator.

It's a general brake fault indicator that could mean worn brake pads or sensor as mentioned above, or low brake fluid or sensor. The message should be accompanied with one of the red warning lights.

It could also mean that just the red indicator light is faulty.

Davren...
it is in fact accompanied with a red warning light... A triangle with an exclamation mark in it... Did not think those were related... From what I know, the triangle means there is a general failure somewhere... not a specific one.

The actual red warning light may be faulty??? Wow... that would be great... considering everything else has been checked!

But how do you reset a faulty light when it's been connected to a computer and shows nothing?

Thank you so much for your input!!! I'll keep you updated.
:)

Which warning light is showing, 28 or 29?

Number 29...
break pads were already changed... warming message still there.

Forgive my ignorance, but i don't know what a generic computer is. This was connected to our garage Dignostic computer... which is a Tecnomotor Socio, professional garage diagnostics computer... (or so i think ;)

Well the,

the car was taken for a test drive.. and TADA! warning message and light turned off... as if it reset itself with the drive.

Thank you so much for the help guys! Glad to see I found a place where people can share their issues and help out!

:) You rock!

Ok, the customer just came back... waring message back on!
Can it be haunted?

Goes by car make, type, year... Not sure if there is a generic option on there as well...

We even called Fiat... guy had no idea... said he would look into it!
And our mechanic has a background specialty in electrical... He knows what he's doing.
He just saw my interest in this and told me to go for it... "find what you can!"
This way he could work on other cars...

I assume then that he is trying to read the fault from the ABS ecu, and not the engine ECU? As that'll be where the fault would be stored.
