Hey chaps, wonder if anyone could enlighten me, i have searched the web searched, the forum and i still can't work out what is a matter.

basically i have a alarm fault, bought the car like this as i was not bothered and am sure i can fix it (i like to have a tinker) so when i unlock my car and get in i start it up and i get a alarm fault it goes away but it flashes up "alarm Fault' but when unlocking or locking it does not beep, is this a sounder problem do you think does the sounder have a battery that i could change or is there a way to get rid of the alarm all together?

also i noticed this morning that i am 1 side light bulb out but no warning on the dash and when i put the fogs on the light come on the dash to tell me there on but no lights come on, i am going to check the fuses for these at the weekend and change the side light bulb, but is that normal for no warning on the dash?

also i have a preheat warning when i start but it goes away after a couple of seconds and if i drive it for any length of time and stop and come back 15 mins later i do not get a warning, it starts first turn no problem, i have read it could be a resistor is there a way of checking the resistor, i have a full set of glow plugs which are new which tonyiles gave me when i collected the car sunday but he said he was told by his garage that it was a resistor and he never got round to changing it as he bought a new car.

also the climate control is digital, but i can't seem to get the fans to spin, now i knew this too when i bought and am not massivley bothered by air con (only had it in one car over the last 10 years) but ifs there and not working i would like to fix it, so any help or pointers you can give would be great, i am going to look at the fuses at the weekend and see if i can trace the problem, tony did tell me it was like that when he got 5 years ago and he never bothered with it either, so if i can't get a easy fix i wont bother either lol

only a couple of niggles but i am over the moon with my purchase, got money back on my insurance changeover got 60mpg at 65mph on a run, only used 8th of tank for 167 miles, got all the options too, skyroof, leather, 17" wheels and what a good looking car the stilo multiwagon is.

i am use to dash lights (had 3 marea weekend 20v's and a stilo 1.2 active aircon before)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

robin

Not entirely sure but im not sure if the front side lights are under the warning system or if both need to be out for it to flash a warning.

Think im right in thinking that the rear lights are the same, If ones out no warning but both think it pops up a warning.
Its so rare for a bulb to pop its hard to remember.

As for the rest of your problems no idea, Might be worth checking the glow plugs first??

Cheers buddy, will check the fuse's and bulbs at the weekend from what i have read i am pretty sure there is no warning for the front fogs (due to some cars not having fogs etc) the glow plugs is on my list to check, just need to get a multi meter to check them.

thanks

robin
