As the title says I learnt something important about Bosch MAF sensors that I never knew before today.
All Bosch Hot Wire MAF Sensors have a "Self Clean" cycle built into them. Each time the engine is switched off the MAF's onboard circuit allows the wire to reach a temp of 1000 degree's C for approximately 1 second. This is to burn of any contaminates that may cause an incorrect reading. This works very well 99.99% of the time and is the reason you should always replace a Bosch MAF with another Bosch MAF and not cheap ones as they do not have the self clean cycle so soon begin giving false reading.
Gotta love Bosch .
