Well after changing the crank sensor, I'm back to square one. It seemed to run better than ever for a day, but now it's back to it's old tricks.

I was hoping it would be that rather than having to get a new ecu.

Had the same problem too, ASR/Alternator failure, Car security etc. Only when i had been driving for a while and when the engine got a bit colder everything was ok again. I moved the ECU away from the engine against the battery case yesterday.. fingers crossed.. Grtz

that's a good solution to prevent these problems - once they occur you're too late with your modification , sooner or later these faults will reappear because the ecu is already faulty .....
Best solution is buying a working replacement ecu (virginised/used) and move it to the side of the battery case to prevent future problems.
