after about 10 minutes driving i get the ABS warning light coming on but the ABS is working fine,is it a bad connection somewhere and if so any idea where, as the last time this happened it failed its MOT, (it cost me a bottle of whisky to pass it)

When the light is on your ABS will not be working.
Basically three reasons for the problem.
1 Incorrect Voltage to the ABS control unit (check battery and connections)
2 Sensorsignal out of range (check and clean sensors and check the leads)
3 Sensorsignal out of range over a certain speed due to different tiresizes.

You fail to mention possible failure of ABS pump etc. as I've mentioned unless you fault read te codes it really is a poke in the dark!
