My front drivers side side lights have both stopped working.. i knows its not the bulbs.. because there LED'S. but looking in the manual, theres no mention of a fuse for the sidelights? it has all the other lights.. dipped, high beam, fogs etc.. but no sidelights.. can anyone help?

also, should the cigarette lighter ring be lit up? i have a feeling it should.. but it isn't.. and theres no mention of a fuse for that either?

finally, where the hell is the fuse box which is meant to be in the left side of the boot.. i think thats the one with the radio amplifier fuse,, and seeing as thought i cant pick up radio signal, i thought i'd check it.. but cant find the box!

please help if you can

theres a fusebox under the steering wheel to the right if you get me? its behind the panel , its best to get out the car , sit on the floor and look up . unless anyone knows the exact fuse you will have to check them individually, use a pair of pliers to remove them easy (y)

to be honest most of the manuals for all cars are vague about which fuses protect what, learnt that years ago. if you have a multimeter just do a continuity test between the two contacts on the top of the fuse and check them all, should only take a minute

also a thought, is it possible the low ride is creating a rough ride loosing some contacts?

Fuse F3 20amp on panel B1 in the engine compartment runs your sidelights but it won't be that because your tail lights are working and its the same fuse for both

The front lights F10 and F11 each have their own separate earth so it won't be an earthing problem at the headlights either

As your tail lights are going on then the light switch on the indicator stalk must be working

So you've lost power somewhere between the body computer and the front lights.

Do some tests
What happens if you select Park lights on the side panel?
What happens if you select left or right indicator then? -one side only should light up
Does the dash sidelight warning symbol still come on with stalk selected sidelights?

If you modified the sidelights then I'd look there first. I dont know what you've done there so can't advise
LEDs also go phutt! So I'd still check them out

The cigar lighter should light up with the dashboard instruments

Hi mate,

If you have checked all of the above, then it could be a body computer fault. Have you got any resistors in your leds? May be worth putting some original 501's in to check that the BCU hasn't gone into "protection" mode. Have you also taken the LED's out and then switched on the lights and put a multimeter on the blade connectors (bulb holder). Failing that, Examiner will point you in the right direction, or at least rule out BCU failure!!!

I know this is an old thread, just wondering if you ever got to the bottom of this problem as I have the exact same problem. All sights working fine except the drivers front side lights. there's no voltage on either wire, so I'm guessing either an open or short circuit somewhere or a faulty BCU. It does show a fault up stating 'front right position lights, signal above maximum threshold' any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've sorted it now, turned out to be a damaged wire on the loom behind the headlight (Light Blue and Green one)
