Got a Fiat Stilo five weeks ago 1.6 dynamic and it keeps showing oil pressure sensor fault and fuel sensor fault. the fiat main dealer have had it four times int the past five weeks, they have replaced the fuel pump, updated the software and reset it but this hasn't cured the problem and now they are stumped to what the problem is. can anyoneone help please, thanks

Fuel pump? That's novel. Wonder why they changed that?
Never mind, it obviously didn't do anything. Is this under warranty?

Is this only happening at startup and no other time?

Fuel level sensor fault is often an initial start up warning that's it's receiving an out of limits voltage signal. I think I've had 4 of those in my time, usually when battery is low or fuel is low

Oil pressure sensor fault is again showing out of limits voltage or open circuit so a bad contact there at the switch or even a bad sensor if it's all the time. Can't take chances with oil pressure though so the more you can tell us about when it occurs the more accurate help you can get

You've got to be prepared for start up warnings on the Stilo as it always expects a cracking good battery voltage. Advice is if it goes out or disappears on second start and doesn't keep doing it then it's not worth worrying about

Thanks for the advice, you were spot on, dirty contact which they have now manage to clean and no other problems have been reported since, thanks again.

Something tells me you have paid Fiat for nothing. I've got both your faults over time, all related to dirty/corroded contacs and weak battery. Sensor fault might flash when there is very little fuel left, as the sensor can't get a correct reading - it finds itself faulty...

Claim your money back.

Hi - Can you tell me where the Oil pressure sensor is - how to get to it - please - The sensor occasionally gives Oil Pressure low - or Oil Pressure High - So I would like to check it and the terminals - thanks

Here it is on a 1.6. This is front of engine

It's usually not far from the oil filter

Thanks Deckchair. I have a 1.9 JTD - I think I have found it on the back of the engine near the oil filter - has a 3 wire connector - had to take off the cover under the engine to get to it. Is there anywhere on line I can get diagrams similar to the one you posted for the 1.9 JTD please? - Thanks.

Thanks Deckchair - - I will start another tread as I am also trying to locate the Reversing light switch on the 1.9 JTD. Cheers

I have a similar problem on my 1.8 16v Dynamic. Everytime I come to a junction or traffic lights, the car cuts out and says "Low oil pressure". If I start the engine after that, it starts first time and all checks are ok. It only happens when it's left to idle after moving the car. Where is the oil sensor on the 1.8s? Could this be a dirty contact too?

When your engine gets too low revs and cuts out then you will have low oil pressure. That's different from the original poster here.
Tried cleaning your inlet control valve as in the Stilo Guides? Cure the dying away and stalling and you may not experience low oil pressure warning

Will give it a try... It never did it before I disconnected the battery though, which puzzles me why it would all of a sudden start? I did add a replacement steering wheel (With buttons) to the car though and it's a foreign node on the network... Could this be causing it?
