I have a Y reg 2001 Scudo 2.0 JTD van which is losing power on hills causing me to have to change gear constantly. It usually pulls away ok but the revs seem to hit a wall in any gear at probably 2500 rpm (Just a guess as no rev counter).

The van starts fine every time, no warning lights on and does not seem to smoke.

The problem does seem to be getting worse, so I would be grateful for any input or ideas.

Thanks, Mik.

Hi mate have you tried cleaning the maf sensor. I had a similar thing on my scudo I sprayed it with intake cleaner and worked a treat.

Cheers Bambo, tried cleaning MAF sensor today with carb cleaner, but it has made no difference. Wondering if cleaning egr valve would make a difference. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to get to and where it is?

Thanks.

I had same problem on my Fiat Scudo 07 wouldnt climb hills but no warning lights on . It turned out it was 1 of the injectors had gone . I changed that and no problem since . It is difficult to get at the EGR valve but not impossible . I've changed mine so many times I can do it with my eyes closed . When the EGR goes in mine it will smoke a lot so I would have injectors checked
