HELP PLEASE!!

My Scudo 2.0 140 multijet (2007 plate), had a 'new' reconditioned engine in December. Amongst other issues, the coolant is dropping to next to nothing in no time and the oil is also dropping. There is no sign of 'milky' oil either in the oil cap or on the dip stick. Any ideas please?

Possible head gasket failure into the exhaust system. Check for any smoke. If not, try parking it over some card board over night and see if there are any leaks.

Thanks. Sadly, it does appear to be pointing in that direction. No smoke nor any signs of leakage anywhere. Now all I will have to do is to persuade the supplier of the engine to honour the warranty

Sounds like head gasket to me. This could also be your starting problem stated in other post. The crack in the gasket/head would be bigger when hot, loosing compression, maybe allowing water into the pots, fuel and water wont burn well.

Good news is that a coolant leak has been identified. However, the starting problem from a hot engine still prevails

What was the cause of this problem (losing coolant) ????? I'm having the same problem.....
