No.Because, depending on model year, the mount port is intended for the dedicated TomTom Blue&Me or TomTom Blue&Me2 satnavs only.

The port essentially only supplies power to the mounting cradle. The cradle comes with the dedicated B&M /B&M2 TomTom satnav(or can be bought separately on ebay).

So the cradle in turn carries a series of contacts to power the appropriate TomTom unit when it is clipped into place- the 1000Go and 5150 also use, I believe, the same contacts, hence they too could also be mounted in the holder cradle. But why bother, a cradle is about £50, just to save a power cable being visible.

I suppose that,in theory, if you could modify a Garmin unit to work off the B&M power contacts ,and cut away the casing to install the contacts (which you'd need to extract from a TomTom anyway), it would be possible- but as I said, you would only bypass using the in-car power cable for a Garmin, and would gain no other functionality, as the rest of the B&M/B&M2 functionality is bluetooth...............

The dedicated Fiat TomTom unit (mine is a GoLive B&M) does a lot with the car's smart features like linking to the low fuel warning - when the low light comes on, the satnav asks if you wish to be directed to the nearest fuel station. Also it has a FIAT badge startup screen, a Qubo (green only :) car on the map, eco driving tips and features and it's specific to the vehicle you are in, not 'general'.

Cheers for that,I am sticking with my Garmin because it has lifetime map updates,I will have to keep plug it in.I will wire a power supply up through the dash then I won't have a wire trailing down the dash

Yep, my B&M2 does all that, with voice control, ECO routes etc etc- but none of that functionality depends on the actual mount, it's for power only.

I have a separate windscreen mount and a separate GoLive1000 power cable, so I can use my B&M2 satnav in my other non-B&M vehicles, and it functions fully with B&M in the Qubo on that mount too.

I don't blame the OP for sticking with the Garmin- I have bought extensions of maps and cameras already- but if you wait for the offers, you can get 18months (6 map updates) for the price of 12 etc etc. STILL iniquitous to charge though- daft lads (and lasses) like us who pay over the odds for the B&M TomToms in the first place buy extra maps when free lifetime updates come with many TT satnavs- just because we have B&M units..............
