Hi
Have a Fiat Punto Sporting 16V 1.4 M1 2004 Model.

Just had its 36,000 mile service..Complained about the RPM fluctuating when idle when I took it in. Before I took it in it was idle at 1200 RPM and dropping to 800. Now they have reset the ECU Adaptations. It is idle at 800 RPM and fluctuated down to 500. And is jurking more often.
I stopped the cheque for the service and for some new dics and break pads until it was looked at again.
The garage had the car for another day, and had sent it to another FIAT garage for an upgrade. The service manager came with the car when they dropped it off as it still had the same problem. He said it seemed a bit better (which it does not) and that the car needed a good run out, as the throttle was choked up and not to be afraid to rev the engine. So far no change. Getting the RPM to 6500 when in 3rd gear i'm sure cant be good for it. I will give it about a week then take it back.
Another garage looked at it and said it needed a new coil back. Someone else said her sisters car needed a new throttle body....eeeek:mad:
Can anyone help.....PLEASE !!!!!:worship:

Sorry my message is so long!!!

Is it not still under warranty?

Apparently not as I took it in for it 36,000 service when it read 38,000. I only had six weeks warranty left. But they said if I wanted those 6 week I would have to pay £60. At the time they told me they had resolved the problem of the flucuating, so I said no to paying the £60. So I guess its not covered under warranty anymore, when it should of ran to 31st March.

Usually the garage pester the life out of me to get my car into the garage for its service months before, but heard nothing from them this time. Possibly because Reg Vardy where being taken over by Evans Halshaw at the time and people where more worried about there jobs than there customers.(n)

The garage has told me to take the car back if it still persists after I have given it a good run about.
