Technical How do i remove a fiat punto mk1 fuel pump??
not sure, but assume it's similar to a cinq.
lift up back seat, remove 4 bolts that hold cover plate on, remove cover plate. disconnect wires. disconnect fuel pipes. remove the 10 or so bolts round the edge of the pump and then lift it up and out.

Like that, I'd think. Disconnect the battery earth first, though. The tricky part -- assuming it's the same as a Cinq -- is getting the sender unit out. But this better posted -- and asked -- in the Punto section: this is for chat, really.

pretty sure it does, and i think thats what he was changing and has tugged hard on the pipe that goes up to the pump and broken it.
Muzst have been one hell of a tug!

how can i forget to undo the clip when the clip was what i was attempting to take off
it was purely accidental as the clip had siezed up
what little markings you could see on the old rusty crumbling filter it looks like the filters never ever been changed and the car was manufactued in 1997

Mind you, on Puntos this is pretty much par for the course. No-one seems to look after the Cinq's inferior relatives!

Yes.. and back to the point can any PUNTO owners help me on how to remove a PUNTO fuel pump on a mk1 PUNTO
Sorry to sound an arse but i dont know how to get it out and i cant find out anywhere.

have you looked at what i've told you?
the PUNTO was made at the same time as the CINQUECENTO and they are all very SIMILAR, hell i've got a PUNTO fuel pump in my CINQUECENTO.

lift rear seat
remover the 3 screws that hold the cover
remove cover
un plug wires
squeeze and remove the other pipe that is left
twist outer ring anti clock wise, might need tapping round with screwdriver n hammer, that then comes off and pump Assembly pulls out top of tank
