As per the thread title...

I'm considering a late model Punto and fancy one with the sunroof.

However I'd like the option of fitting roof bars (Thule or similar) and am wondering if these can be fitted to Skydome equipped cars, or are they mutually exclusive?

Obviously I'm aware that the roof would not be able to be opened with roof bars in place but that's not a problem.

Any help / advice much appreciated, cheers

I know this is a late reply but...

The manual says no but loads of people have done it. Some people in the Grande Punto section have done this succesfully.

As you've already mentioned, obviously dont open the sunroof when th bars are attached!

James, thanks for your reply much appreciated.

Sounds like it's good to go... I guess Fiat advise against it just to avoid warranty claims on broken sunroofs :)

I can only assume thats the case. I dont know who would be stupid enough to open the sunroof as it clearly 'pops out' rather than slides into the roof but there you go :p

I do have a skydome but not tried to fit any roof bars but I looking at it I cant see any reason why it would be a problem

James, thanks again for your help... in the end I've purchased a Fiat 500L after deciding that a Punto would not be quite big enough for our family needs.

As it happens it has a (non-opening) skydome which is a very nice feature, but seems to be big enough inside to take all our gear without the need for an additional roofbox. Very happy With it so far.
