Hi guys, hope you can lend a hand here.

When I turn my engine off the oil and engine warning lights come on. As soon as the engine is turned back on they go off again. This has literally just happened of its own accord in the past few days. If any other LED's (eg City, petrol warning, door open) are on, they too stay on.

Before this I had an issue where the handbrake light would stay on when the engine was turned off, however if i turned the engine on and then off again this it stayed off. This did disappear of its own accord.

It's a 52 reg MK2 Punto Active 1.2. I have had a look through the forums and not found anything that seems to relate to this, however I may just disconnect the battery for 20 or so minutes tomorrow to see if this sorts anything.

Cheers
Chris

check your oil;)

Cheers ;) In all seriousness though, I've checked it, checked brake fluid when the handbrake light was coming on, and it doesn't make sense that this only shows when the engine is off. It's doing my nut in.

OK, its fixed itself, sweet.

Got up this morning, went to go for a drive, and the warning lights had gone off. Turned the car over and it took a while (figure the battery was almost flat). Odd thing was that although the clock/mpg etc had reset on the dash, the clock on my stereo didnt. Weird.

Anyway, cheers for that. Just need to figure out why the airbag light is on whenever my engine is on now :D

Any suggestions, let me know, this has been going on longer than the last prob.

Cheers again.
