General Punto mudflaps?

depends on which ones your thinking on, i had a set of the genuine fiat ones when i bought my car, when i lowered it they just had to come off.

they also trap crap behind then which doesnt help the lip of the wing from rusting, also the inner edge tends to bend in and start rubbing the tyres when cornering.

rears are fine, i took them off because i lost one.

can you still buy the 'line accersory' rear mud flaps (well front too) for the mk1 punto?
just fed up with all this mud everywhere!! AND I am actually toying with the idea of getting a suzuki sj or lada niva to replace the punto:eek:

Ive had an SJ410, 413 and an toying with the idea of putting the vitara 1600 engine in one, as both the 1ltr and 1.3 are erm... useless, whereas the more modern 1.6 has only a little more grunt, but at least its twice as reliable, though stil awfull. lol Its hard to find an SJ without dire bodywork rust and soethign terminal about the engine/gearbox. both transfer boxes went in my sj's and the gearbox in one, clutch also, starter motors in both and radiators, erm... the seat pans rotted out and so both seats dropped a bit, erm.... lol sayng that, the puntos can be just as rusty and unreliable but mines been pretty good on the reliabilty front :p

I know what I'm getting into with the sj's!!!! drove a mongol rally one in kazahkstan, we told them to use the road we were using (1200km total longer, but won't break your car!) and they didn't listen.......

.....they didn't even make it to the end of that very day!! they killed both sj's!!(one rolled the other sheared its rear diff in half:( ) down that road, which finished about 15mongol rally cars off!!! (locals kept telling em it was good so they can get free cars, wheras we had 100% firm advise from a guy that wasn't local that helped us out that the road was sht and would probably kill the car, then the locals would kill us:eek: )

with the lada they do rust FROM FACTORY!!!! but are pretty damn reliable (rad's and electrics are shocking, everything else is(y) ) but when they start rusting they just don't stop.

the sj's rot even worse, but its usually panel damage and bulkhead rather than suspension mounts and engine mounts basically comimg away!

I would intend to buy one, do it up over winter and into next year, then have some fun in it, if it drives good enough on the road it'll replace the punto completly, and I'll fit a small NA diesel engine in there.
if its rubbish on the road, and no amount of suspension sorting and different g'boxs and engines can do then I'll keep the punto and use the sj purely for off road pleasure(y) (y)
