Re: New trailing arm bearings fitted.

Hi,

My daughter has an old Punto N reg SSX 1.1. We have been advised that the car needs a 'rear arm' on the drivers side. I know nothing, sadly, about cars so I will have to pay the going rate to get it done, I guess.

Does anyone have any idea as to roughly how much , in total, a garage would charge to get this done?.

I might sound very naiive but how far can the car last before replacing them. Is is very dangerous to drive. My daughter uses the car.

If you have any help or advice I would appreciate it. thanks, Pete

Re: New trailing arm bearings fitted.

I doubt the arm will fall off, however it could wobble making the drive rather unpredictable, especially at speed. Also the wheel will sit at a hard camber, wearing the inside shoulder.

You can buy the bearing kit @ £25.39 delivered from shop4parts.co.uk

The job isn't really that hard. You have any friends/family who are good with a spanner? Where are you based?

This kit is all well and good - but you need to replace the big assed bolt holding the arm to the axle.
Does this kit include that or not?
