Hello :)

Just wondering if this is normal or a symptom of something really bad

Last night I had to move my car off the drive, nothing unsual in that I hear you say, anyway, I had to rev up a bit as some of the cats were on the drive and I didn't want to run them over. As I did rev I heard a gurgling noise from behind the heater controls  it only happened when I was revving the engine and went away as I started to drive.

Is this normal or something sinsister?

Car was cold. Mk2 2 2000 Sporting no previous HG trouble or anything, on 58,000 miles.

Thanks

this happened to me after my radiator burst and i refilled it up with coolant

it may be an air bubble trapped in the cooling system, i might be wrong but after the bloke squeezed my pipes round a bit it seemed to stop the noise :)

Just keep an eye on the temprature gauge for now just to be sure :)

Could be something to do with your heater matrix I know mine makes a funny sound sometimes when started from cold, like water sloshing (is that a word?!) around in the engine.

air trapped in the cooling system, you need to bleed it.
