1000w will be the max power input, RMS the designed or optimal input value is determined by multiplying by .707 so you need an amplifier capable of delivering 700w RMS. depending on your input, RCA stereo or mono will then determine wether you want a 2 channel or mono block amplifier. You can bridge a 2 channel amplifier and produce a suitable output. The out put quality will be very much related to the quality of the install, large enough power supply, a power cap if you have the ability to draw enough current with the amplifier, short clean ground connections and well routed and shielded RCA cables. In essence a 700w amp would match your sub and then a good install will make all the difference. It also depends on the desired effect, quality range of sound or bass that will blow a set of hot pants off at a thousand paces!!!!!
