My valuation was £190 :( stilo sporting multijet 150 nearly on 83k. 20170729_152322.jpeg

The car will be written off and I'll get car value, if I got anywhere near £800 I'd be happy but suspect it'll be much lower!

Remember you should not be left in a worse position, insurance company will offer the glasses guide value and usually what it's indicated trade value would be.

You need to be able to replace the car with a comparable vehicle and so you will need the dealer forecourt value of the car from the insurer.

Trawl auto trader to find cars with similar mileage, spec and condition and use these as examples of the price you'd have to pay to replace the car. Don't just accept what they offer.

When out Punto HGT was written off I proved that it was impossible to buy another for the silly low offer they made and proved from other cars for sale at the time, that i would need a certain amount back in order to be able to replace the car with a like for like vehicle

Cheers fella. I will take all on board and prepare myself for when they finally get round to sorting out.

Thanks again everyone

Sorry forgot to keep you updated on this, so here goes.

Because the geezer who hit our cars wasn't insured the insurance said i would have to claim against myself therefore lose my no claims bonus and also pay £250 excess so I told them to get fooked and if I don't go ahead would the claim be registered which they sent me confirmation in writing it wouldn't so I got my car back.

I have been driving it around since the accident and all seems good, I have just put a new bonnet on (£10) and on the lookout for a new bumper however when replacing bonnet I noticed the lugs / connects for the headlights had snapped and moved a lot and the frame (hole) that holds the radiator is miles away from holding it.

My MOT is due in 50 days so was wondering if anyone knows what the criteria is and would my car fail on the above if not rectified?

Thanks guys

Neil

We can go 90 days early for the NCT. They tell you what's wrong or pass you. Either way the official test date is still the original due date.
Can you take the MoT early and get a heads up ?

If u take it for an mot - its inspection time

You can go 30days early and keep the current mot expirary date
Ie
Ur mot expires end of march
U go 1st of march and it passes, you get the an mot that expires end of march

Driving a car with known defects (ie failed mot) isnt legal, and if an accidebt occours and its higglighted u knew car was defective, u could end up in ****.....
