Technical Help! Alternator bearing maybe?

Assuming it is something on the timing belt and the solution is going to be replacement of pump and timing belt kit.
Budget £100 for parts, coolant, manual, tool or two, oil and the unexpected.
The job is straightforward and because it's an 8V there are no locking tools required and it's almost impossible to make a bags of it and it's not rocket science.
Time to take the top timing belt cover off and have a look.

What do you suggest I like look for sir? Or listen to the noise it sounds around the rocker cover area :s

Cheers
Devante

8v' engines i personally think are the best
There actually quiet solid lumps if looked after

I tow with my 1.2 8v as well! They do love to torque and work bloody HARD!

I wouldnt change the engine - just wish it'd have more umph from time to time

the 8v timing belt is a DIY task
Espically since no timing tools are needed JUST basic sockets and spanners and a trolley jack and axle stands

I'd honestly consider looking at getting the belt changed with water pump and tensioner - if the noise which are suspecting is one of the 2 major tension holders failing
Cam and crank very very very very rarely fail!
The pump and tensioner on other hand are the suspects

Can you get a video up with the noise occurring?
I'd laugh something quiet hard if the timing belt case has been knocked and its rubbing against the belt... as yes - they make quiet a noise as they do
