Hi guys, just wondering if coil packs have a certain time they should be replaced?

My car is running fine but due some new plugs and a service, just thought should the coil packs be changed after x amount of miles too?

No not at all, just thought as I'm replacing plugs is it worth replacing these too?

Really cheap at the moment so just wondered if it was worth doing?

Really cheap = white box surprise....

Make sure you have a decent quality version, I know they dont suffer likr the 1.2 8v
But a decent spark is all about getting best fuel economy and long lasting


Defo get sparks changed if ur not sure
If u have ht leads change them too

I'm not sure how to change the leads on mine as part of the loom I think. Shame as the previous owner has broken a couple of the clips. Will investigate further as its something that bothers me.

The coilpacks are oem and turned up in good time.

I've looked but think due to the coil pack set up on the 1.4 you cant actually buy uprated leads?

1.4 got coil fingers 1 for each plug?

Yes mate, has clips that go to each coil pack. The wires run in to the loom and can't see that they can be changed
