Fuse blown when ignition was switched on . Any other suggestions?

lets recap

With the blower motor disconnected fuse 31 blows
with the relay 8 removed fuse 31 blows
with the reversing light switch disconnected fuse 31 blows

is this correct

Fuse blown as I turned on ignition . I have sent a picture of relay removed pliers pointing to position hope this is correct one?

yes its the correct
with that removed the heater circuit is out of the game
with the reversing light switch removed thats out of the game
that only leave the fuse box complete or wiring for the air which you dont have bt the cables maybe there.
give me time to have a think and maybe ziggy can confirm or have another idea.

Just to let you know i had a problem very much like yours and in the end i had to change the whole fuse box

No hurry at all not weather for the heater just now anyway even hear in Scotland. The maintenance lad at work who I borrowed meter from said if relay and switch was removed the only option was the fuse box maybe a loose wire to this particular fuse . He said I may have to remove fuse box and check wiring behind. I did say heater blower challenge . I have made it WAY further with your help than I could have imagined thanks again will leave it till tomorrow . how much for a new fuse box?

ok speak tomorrow
i think we are chasing a chuffed wire touching earth but we WILL resole the problem.

Are you ok using the meter with resistance cause that will make it a bit easier as we will have to lift the fuse box up (dont worry its easy) and take some readings

Im sure with your guidance and a few photographs we can manage to nail this . Any advance pictures of fuse box moving or removal welcome . The meter has been explained to me and have used it successfully once so will give it a go.

a couple of photographs using the multi meter.

The 7.5 fuse removed everything else wired as should be.

The voltage test is showing 12.3 volts as expected

The resistance on the other side of where fuse should be reads 76.5 ohms .

Are both readings what we would expect
