I see many puntos on here, and on fleabay / general adverts, AT etc etc with mileage that is highly dubious or, unlikely. Obviously there will always be some examples. but...

I wonder how many folks with an apparantly 'low mileage' Punto have ever really 'checked ?. It is quite easy to do (to check!), hook it up to MES and check the the mileage on the engine ecu, it should be within 5% of the 'dash' ecu odometer reading.
You can also look at the number of rewrites and mileage at last rewrite.
(HPI / VOSA are not the most reliable!)
I would estimate that 30 - 40 % are clocked. When you consider you can set yourself up to clock a punto via OBD for less than 11 quid lol :D... (y) - not MES - MES only allows forward writes.

i dont think this is correct as when i plugged my mk2 to mes, engine ecu showed 77k and on dash it showed 120k, fiat told me they put in that mileage when it was last serviced by them
