Hello!

I have a Fiat Punto from 2003. But I only have one key. I bought it last year and the previous owner only gave one key. I would like to have a spare one, but I don't really know how to get it. I checked on internet and I need some codes, where can I get those codes? and the key? Is there an specific model or it could be anyone?

Thanks a lot!!

The car uses a chipped key to indentify itself

The key mechanical part is no problem
It needs specialist diagnostic equipment to code another key in
Fiat or a decent auto electrician can do that

They will want the key code card possibly too, thats used in the emergency startup

It wont be cheap

A good auto locksmith - ponsaloti can help - is able to connect to the cars ECU and program keys that way, so the code card (which you won't have as UK insurance decree that it is not given out with new cars, or it'd make them too easy to steal) isn't required. Dealer should be able to get a new key for under £200.

Thanks for your answers.

I am not sure if I want to spend £200 in a key. I am just scare of loosing the only key that I have, them it will be a real problem.

I am based in East Central London. I don't mind going to their place to get the key cut. Where are they based?

Thanks

I had the same issue and went to timpsons who cut me a new key. They went out to the car and 'sniffed' the code some how and did everything for £55 (not a remote key) the key unlocks and starts the car fine. Hope this helps.
