Hello I haven't a problem but I do have a little thing which does my head in. When driving with the radio on when I come to stop. I turn my engine off the radio still plays when the key is out of.

Can I get it to work where the radio goes off when I take key out? This is standard tape player for the punto. Thanks.
 
Hi mate.

The radios are wired up to the battery on a permanent live which means as you say, it will stay on even with the key out the ignition.

Check the guides section, there's also a lot of threads on this and various ways to get around it.

I personally fitted an aftermarket HU wired up to cig lighter

it shouid switch off.

radio shouid have can bus link to Bcu.It might have had the check can took off it..disabled. :confused:

mine goes off with key out of ignition.
and switches off after 15mins or so if switched on manualy..this ipresume to save battery power.

they dont all

wifes car was a 52 plater she left radio on all weekend and it broked the battery
as said some models of mk2 punto radio turn off after 20 minutes some dont
 
hey yeah ts been doing my head in now and wish it would just turn off when engine is off etc. I hate having to do it and when you get out you automatically think the radio is off as well. Can you wire this up to stop it etc

Wire up to cigarette lighter
 
Ah right is it hard to wire up to cigarette lighter ??

Nah, I just cut into perma live wire (usually black) and run a new wire from that into back of cig lighter. There's a diagram on here somewhere where you can switch pins around on the iso connector to run power FROM the lighter rather than the permanent earth from the battery. It's more awkward than anything.
