Technical Resetting airbag light / Reading Ecu

Hi I know this has probably been asked hundreds of times but anyway here I go.

I'm looking at resetting the airbag light on my mk2 punto.

Can I just use this cable with the ecu scan software : http://bit.ly/1dD3Ucv

Or do I need these adapters aswell:
http://bit.ly/1k4gVK4

The switched lead should do the job no adapters needed

ive stopped using this lead on 2004 and newer puntos as it often fails to communicate

ive gone back to the two leads

just my two pennorth

i use a kl lead and adapters works everytime, switch leads seem to have connection issues

So would this lead reset my airbag light on a 51 plate punto?

where are you ?. maybe a member local can do for you and then you can get the same set up as they have.
yes the vag kl lead and adapters will reset airbag light

i have the same issue, have the vagkkl switchable lead but fails to read airbag ecu, altho will engine ecu...

any info on where to go as my airbag is on and want to fault find and fix

Just make sure its the right one and is fully working

Exactly same serial numbers... says is in working condition.. if not it will be going back..

got the ecu , fitted it and still no comms with it using the ecuscan software and vagkkl cable.... grrrrrr

Have you watched the video by AndyRKett to make sure all your settings are correct. Or perhaps dodgy cable

I had an issue before due to a faulty cable. Worth trying a different cable just to eliminate the problem

I have watched both those videos.... The one where you replace the earth cable isn't relevant as I don't have the isolation switch and the pins on the adapter are in different places... unless you could tell me which 1 is likely to be the earth ?
