Before someone states the obvious I've been reading the forums about this and keep going round in circles and still none the wiser!

So, Y reg, 1.2 8 Valve with airbag light on, after removing the battery for a short while, no history before this.

Simply, how do I turn it off?

The ecuscan software link appears broken and & don't really know which leads I need anyway nor can I find any on eBay etc as people suggest!

I'm in the West Mids, near M6 J9 - is there anyone local who can assist with this please.

Thanks in advance.

There's a post about it, you need the software and a special cable with 2 of the pins crossed.

Find out which pins and find the correct cable on ebay. It may have a switch on it to switch the pins. It's blue IIRC.

Jobs a good un

Tnank you but as I said:

1. The Fiat ECUscan link is not working?

2. Where are the cables from - none on eBay?

Round and round and round and round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

These cables worked for me:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFA-FIAT...iagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3a80a450ac

You need to use the red adapter with the KKL cable to access the airbag ECU. I found I also needed to download a driver for the cable from here:

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

You can then use the software to connect to the airbag ECU and reset the warning light. It took a bit of time to get it working but with the help of the video guide above I managed to turn my warning light off and thankfully it hasn't come back.

Thank you for the info Chris - cables ordered and software downloaded.

It lists three ECU Control Modules within the software, how do you determine which one to use, presumably you need to identify which is fitted to the vehicle but how?

And no, this post is not a wind up!!!!!!!!

you go for the first one first and see what happens
nothing will blow up
you say you cant find any information on this forum but i posted about exactly this issue on another thread round about lunch time

On MES there is a option to Detect or scan cant remember what its called

But it take 30secs to 2mins

it'll detect what it can with the current plug and which version with ISO code

But if you have select the incorrect one, it means certain function wont work or invalid ISO code error, but it still works

Thanks for the responses - will have a try when the data cables arrive!

No s and b, I never mentioned I couldn't find information about this, just that what I could find kept taking me round and round and back again - please check and verify what I said to be 100% correct before making assumptions!

All you needed to do was search on eBay for "KKL lead" the details of the lead are mentioned in the video so you can easily track down the leads or failing that actually google "kkl lead eBay" or even "fiat ecu scan" would have returned over 60 results of various individual and cable sets on eBay.

You could have also googled fiatecuscan which would have found you the website.

Even if you are struggling, non of us knew the www.fiatecuscan.net URL no longer worked the software has recently changed to multiecuscan but the original url has been working fine for many months, so was there really any need to be quite so rude?

Round and round and round and round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can understand s and b's attitude, why bother to help people if all they do it throw it back in your face, and why bother with people who can't help them self

'is this a wind up' is not really an attitude is it - just someone who knows certain things about a subject attempting to belittle a 'newbie' with little or no idea of the subject matter and merely attempting to do the right thing!

'throw it back in your face' - please clarify as this mystifys me even moreso?

As for 'so rude' please enlighten me as as far as I can tell I wasn't nor never intended to be?

I don't think s and b was intending to belittle anyone

If you didn't mean or intend to be rude, just admit it and move on...why even continue to argue about it? What will it solve? Nothing :)

IF someone was belittling you, the best way to act to it don't retaliate, rise above it and be bigger person.

That's all I have to say, let's keep this topic clean guys, no need to get all your handbags out ;)
