Can't see it. FCS, it's not that common on Mk1s, just get a linkeage from a scrappy, put spray grease on it (poundshop) and it will probably outlive the rest of the car.

Keep the old motor, just in case.

Bodging it is just not worth £20 -- it may not work and could fail catastrophically just when you need it.

the Metal support bar that joins onto the Plastic Mounting brackets have come apart in the pictures

Saying 01 - do you mean 2001 plate?
Or 01 as is mk1?

Im assuming its a 2001 making it a mk2 punto
The common issue for those is the Wiperlinkages come off the ball joints due to wear

The Fix - either a set of Wipex Linkages, common easy cheap fix

But yours looks like a 2nd set or you can somehow pop rivet some brackets together to make it fit?

looks like mk2 to me?
i always mig weld washers on the end of the spigot shaft then quench so as not to damage the bushings
done loads
never had to do a recall
cost 8 pence all in:D

yeh its Mk2 sry(2001 plate)

i have thease notsure how much will help wipex

also having trouble getting the plastic bit dur to a shredded screw/wipers off so cant get to the linkage to try fix it

was thinking getting another linake from scrappy, how much thing they would cost?

for the LOVE OF GOD!
£150 ! :yuck::cry:

All you need is a spanner or ratchet
A few posi screws and the whole thing come out!!

Wipers off
Plasti cowling off
undo connector for wiper power
Remove few bolts

It pulls out

for a None DIY person
its an afternoon at the very very worst!

And you pay like £20 from a scrappy - while the wife makes a cup of tea! :)

I bought this repair kit from wipex and the rods and brushes, are of at mush better quality, than the original ones fitted from the factory.

Can highly recommend them (y)
