It seems that "in sickness and in health" applies to the wife's car! So here I am sharing my Punto problems!

Punto is a 2003 1.2 8v. The front windscreen wipers often don't work on any setting. Constant flicking between the positions will get a wipe eventually. I have purchased the Haynes manual, whilst it shows them on their wiring diagram, I don't know how this relates to the relays in the car.

Could someone please help? There is a fuse/relay box under steering wheel and under bonnet, however I don't know which relay(s) to change?

There is no relay for the wipers -- there's a speed control thingy on the motor itself. My advice, go get a motor and wiper mechanism complete from a scrappy, grease up well the spindles and pivots (spray grease is good, not WD40) and keep the old one safe for when you might need a bit.
