Hi

Can sombody give me details on the specfication , or where can i get the specification on the stock Alternator for punto mk2

i just need to know things like how much amps it produces at idle
and at certain revs any info on the alternator would be good.

any of you guys have bigger alternators installed

To find the amps use a multimetre, start engine then take off red cable and connect the red wire to positive cable and the black wire to negative terminal then rev away and you will have the amps and voltage at different revs and idle.

Or leave the battery connected and connect red wire to the B+ connection that is connected to the alternator and the black wire to the negative terminal to get its output.

when you say red cable do you mean red cable from the battery or alternator

It best to use red cable from alternator but the red cable from battery should give same output as long as its disconnected from the positive terminal when testing.
