Hi folks. I want to jack the Punto up (8v mark 2) and put it on axle stands so that I can work underneath the engine. Where is the safest central point to put the trolley jack on so as not to damage anything, and is it best to put the stands under the sill jacking points or is there any other recommended place ?

Directly under the gearbox is the only one I can remember, I would avoid using the sump (seen it done with mixed success!)

Thanks for that. I wouldn't have used the sump as I know how thin they are! I'll give it a go under the gearbox. Thanks.
