air conditioning, loads of water leaking

I recently paid 50 euro to replace the air conditioning gas.

Since then, today for example, a lot of water was leaking underneath the car. The air conditioning was set to 22 degrees and only one notch (minimum).

Is so much water normal? It's really hot in Rome these days but I am worried.

The air conditioning gas had never been changed before (madness I know but I never thought about it). It feels like I bought a new car.

Mine doesn't drip water, but the air con doesn't work as the gas just leaks out over a few months. Now I know the gas leak is very bad for the environment I won't get it refilled. The later gases are still bad for the environment, but not as bad as the old ones.

The water is what has condensed out of the warm incoming air as it has been cooled. Now your air con is working it's making water ! mine doesn't, but I bet it is a bit warmer in Rome than in Nottingham !

Thank you both.
Everyday sunshine down here, downside is the temperature. What about the UK?
All the best to you all.

Re: air conditioning, loads of water leaking

I'd be more worried if the AC in hot/humid conditions wasn't dripping water

Weather here in the UK is somewhat variable at the moment!!

Spent April, May and June in Umbria - when it was unseasonably hot and I started to fantasise about walking on Dartmoor in horizontal rain - sure enough, the day after we got back to Pudding Island I was walking on Dartmoor in horizontal rain (and enjoying it). While in Italy we invariably spend a day or two at Prenestina - see http://www.volontaricapitanoultimo.it - helping at a charity and admiring the hawks - including a pair of eagles.
