Anyone got one?? Saw my first one in yellow today on the m62, not impressed!

Has this big black thing on the rear looks awful, it does look higher and is sat on chunkier lookin wheels!

Anyone else seen them? Your impressions???

They said it was the slowest accelerating car from 0-60 on the road, good job Fiat got rid of the non turbo Doblo, that took 2 seconds longer.

I love them. How can anyone not be impressed by a car like this? Even Clarkson loved it. I suggest you get yourself down to a showroom for a proper look and then revise your opinion. :)

:yeahthat:

im trying to persuede my mum to get one, but as its 10.5k for the one she wants, she will most probably settle for the skydome :(

seen a few doing off-road type things over the winter, they look well cool. My dad was very tempted to get one just for fun...

Nah i still dont like it, its not 4x4 enough for my liking! Its not what i consider a proper 4x4

I've got one.
Had it for about 6 weeks and love it to bits.
It has replaced our Range Rover and I don't miss the big old beast and her expensive taste in fuel and unreliability one single bit. I just wish I could find someone to buy it!
Off road it is phenominal. Its small size counts for so much when you get off the tarmac. It literly flies accross unmade roads. I knocked 20 minutes off a six mile streach on Loch Etive compared to the Rangie. Is that slow?
0 to 60 time is appauling, but it's just not geared for 0-60. It is a 'propper' off roader. Not just something to make up for size in 'other areas'.
It also managed to haul me, my wife, kid and two weeks luguage and supplies(with roof box) keeping a steady 80MPH on the motorway.
If you want a vehicle to make to feel big and important, and empty your bank account, buy a Jap Tonka Toy.
If you want a vehicle to do the above and go anywhere, and empty you bank acount, buy a Land Rover.
If you want a vehicle to go anywhere without impressing anybody but the people that realy care about these attributes, get the Panda.
It turns more heads in rural communities than any other car I know, because they all loved the old Panda4X4 but the rust got 'em.

Hello everyone,
I'm a happy owner of a Panda 4x4 climbing 1.2 since Dec 04 and till today I have 10000 km with almost no problem, except a rattling in the rear seat which I mention in another thread.
My opinion is that the car is very good especially when you ask from it off road driving. It's very good also for my wife when she drives it in town. (consumption is a litle bit higher than the normal Panda 1.2, around 8.5lt/100km in town)
My only concern is the weak engine although I haven't bought it for races, 60 BHP aren't enough especially if you want to travel somewhere to enjoy the off-road capabilities.
Untill today I've enjoyed the car capabilities in snow and in gravel. In the sand no problem so far but I'm cautious when I drive in sand.
In mud I had no problem except one time I misjudged the type of the mud and finally I stuck.

I have one question. Driven from a post in a Greek forum I measured the distance between the right rear wheel and the bumper and compared with the same from the left wheel and found it different. The same happened to another Greek guy and I wondered if this is normal. The car has no problem regarding handling.

I wish I could have a better engine (any tuning?)

lanchester01: Have you bought the original roof box or an aftermarket and does it fit to the roof rails or you need to buy extra ones?
BTW 80MPH steady looks to me a bit high speed. I only managed to keep an average of 105km/h during a trip of 350 km.

Hi Adamatios,
I am glad to here you are enjoying your Panda 4X4 as well.
To fit a roof box you will still need bars that fit across the roof. It does make the fitted bars pointless in my view. I bought these from Fiat as they are neater than an after market type. They do not overhang at the sides, but they are very expensive.
I already had a roof box. A Thule Polar 100 that fits very well. I will try and post a photo tonight. The biggest drawback is having to carry something to stand on to load and unload the box. It is quite high.

At 80MPH the engine seemed very happy. It has done 5000 miles (8000km) and feels well bedded in, and the car was very stable.
What I forgot was that with a roof box you are restricted by law to 60MPH(100Kmh) in the UK. Ooops. So 60Mph in the future.
I also have a Citroen 2CV so to me the Panda seems fast enough for most situations, but I would like more torque it is true.
I will contact some tuning shops I know and see if anything can be done.
Does anyone else on the forum know about tuning the 1.2 8V FIRE engine? I know the 16V is tunable.
Regards
Tim
