Had the rear end of my 100hp done in this morning by a range rover. It looks as if its just a new bumber needed. Also needing a front one after hitting a phesant a while back.

Anyone know roughly it should be for a replacement back and front main body without the foggers / inserts etc?

According to ePER a new front bumper, without inserts etc, is £340.45 and a new rear bumper, again without the fake diffuser etc, is £259.20. If you need the fake diffuser that's another £138.38.

If you need any more parts, such as the plastic bit which goes around the wheel arch or the brackets for the rear bumper, just let me know and I'll get you the prices :).

Thats great pal, was just really looking at rough figures just now.

You might be able to get some of the parts cheaper from a breakers, but 100HPs aren't exactly common and most that are written off are likely to have at least one bumper damaged. Not to mention the fact you'd need to have it resprayed unless you happened upon a 100HP which was the same colour as yours.

What a bummer ! freeking chelsea tractors ! ;)

Definitely get fiat to give you a full quote even if you take it somewhere else - there could well be other damage.
Best of luck, mind you - the guy in the tractor should be paying shouldnt he ? - well - his insurance ?

If you're young, it's often not worth involving your insurance company for the increase that even a non-fault claim will make to your next premium.

It's sad and pretty pathetic how the insurance industry operates in the UK, but there's not a lot you can do about it :(.

He just handed me a business card told me he was a chief executive and told me to give him a price, No quibbles. My kinda accident

Sod buying parts then, take it to your local Fiat main dealer and tell them you want a quote for it to be fixed up good as new. Pay for the new front bumper yourself (as that had nothing to do with this morning's incident) and charge the rest to the Range Rover bloke.

Problem solved (y).

I would agree, the one to watch out for though is when you give him the bill andhe turns round and says no way ! go forth.. - you will then have to claim off his insurance via your company - you then go to yours - as you need to notify them - and they are not happy as too much time has gone by. BIG problems can arise - especially if he says it was your fault in the future.
Definitely get a full written quote with a full inspection by a genuine dealer - not some back street place - send the quote to him recorded delivery. (preferably by hand and stand there until he transfers the dosh to your account!)
Otherwise you may well have issues as he may decide he doesnt want to pay when he see the bill. ! - that happens a lot. !
If you havent got a quote and the money in 48 hours - then I would strongly advise you go to your insurance and report the matter and instigate a claim - I would never believe anyone in that situation. - but I would give them 48 hours - no more - no money in my bank, no deal. Too many con men about unfortunately, even the good ones often decide to change their view after sleeping on it and a chat with others. And also, what looks a minor repair can turn out to be very expensive.
I hope in your case it all go superbly and there is minimal damage overt and covert.

Sound advice. Quote from Fiat, then money from at fault party and then finally get the work done.

When I was rear ended and made his insurance pay for it, after giving the driver a big lecture about what break lights are for when he told me he didn't think I was going to stop (light changed to amber).

It made no difference to my insurance policy. Technically you need to tell your insurance company about this accident regardless of if you put in a claim or not.

That.
When I got rear-ended it made do difference to my insurance.
When I told my insurance that I had backed my wife's car into a post (she claimed on her policy) they put my insurance up by £70 :(

You'll be surprised at the damage that may have occurred, check out the bumper support bar and inside of the boot

get a full bumper off inspection, there are bits behind there designed to bend! they bend even if bumper is undamaged so unlikely to be straight still. first 2 non fault claims insurance are normally OK with, when it gets to 3 in 5 years they put price up :(

:yeahthat:

Range rovers are heavy beasts.... I'd be surprised.... in fact amazed, if the only damage was a cracked bumper, regardless of how slow it was going. The rear section is basically a soft crumple zone. At very least get bumper off, the boot open and the carpet lifted and have a good look around for any buckles/kinks in the metal anywhere, also inspect the exhaust system as depending on the angle you were hit, that can be pushed under the car and do damage further up the system.

Hence why i said to check inside the boot, i wasn't in my Panda when it got hit but the wife said it was a very small accident and it got Cat D'd for a small impact.
