Thanks, I just saw your info on other post about wilsons. I bought it from a garage in Buckley. He's obviously lying about it being a part ex. The car genuinly looks a 67k mileage car. The interior is like new and it drives like new. I also never believe mileages but if it's not 67k it's very close to it. Hé called the new part a squibb or was it quill??!! Can't remember but he mentioned £140 and steering angle sensor aswell. I'll get it sorted next sat when I get back from work. Cheers.
If it is the angle sensor - he means the torque sensor - ! that is good at least, he has some clue what he is doing - we hope ! .... (providing he DID change it) - it would be unusual for a normal garage - unless they are Fiat ? - others would buy a recon (powerwashed lol) eps system.
Regardless, the torque sensor is a common problem for illumination of the light, but unlikely if you didnt get loss of steering power and specifically on one side only - or poor return to centre -
whatever, the torque sensor replacement can in NO WAY make the light
not come on when you turn on the ignition. !!!!!! absolutely none.
If the MIL light is also on, that is worrying...
I can assure you with the best will in the world, you will not tell a properly clocked car as they dont clock a car that cant stand it - ie, that cant be made to look as if it is right.. if it had one owner, you are fine cos you can talk to her - that will sort that.
They may have taken it in part ex from her, blocked it (and lied about being dealers), failed to sell (why ??? one must ask !) - or, the woman tried her hand at the auctions prior to trading it in - - I dont buy that one Dozer...
If you paid fair money and they fix it, no worries, jsut dont believe a word they say - and NEVER accept anything with - for example - new steering part fitted 12 months warranty - it means nothing, you want the exact detail of WHAT was fitted.. otherwise where is the warranty ? you go back in 11 months anfd they say - sorry gov, it wasnt THAT part, so its not under warranty.. dealer cons No. 6 in a list of about 5000
