I know theres a few already been done, but i wanted more power!! over the past few weeks ive been installing a turbo on my panda. If anyone wants any advice all i would say is DONT DO IT its been a nightmare, BUT its starting to get fun now!!
The specs are:
A t3/t4 turbo from eBay (huge but cheap, also still get low down fuel economy) sat on a modified abarth 500 manifold
Custom Exhaust system made in 2 1/4 stainless steel
AEM FIC8 piggyback ECU just adjusting the fueling/timing under boost
A PLX Wideband lambda sensor
An new mushroom style air filter
Toyosport intercooler from eBay with 2 1/4 intercooler pipes
Oil drain welded to the sump
Oil feed from the pressure switch,
Due to the size of the turbo I've had to modify the front panel to get the turbo in, also I've lost my air con condenser due to the intercooler but i may have ago at moving the intercooler forward and putting the condenser back in cos i miss the air con
Its running about 6psi at the moments, on a safe base map but the fuel leans off at about 5000rpm due to the injectors being maxed out. The boost doesnt come in until about 3000rpm, but the power in the 100hp never comes in until about 4000rpm anyway, if I was to do it again I would have got a smaller turbo tho!:bang:
When I've got the bigger injectors I might try a decompression plate from Ferriday Engineering, as the have the plate on file so they could just make one of any thickness. Anybody had any experiences of Ferriday, or decomp plates??
I need to take more pictures but heres a few for now.
