I have a 2007 multijet panda with 80k on it. And today I noticed some gunk on the fresh air intake side of the turbo, looking around I found this part(that I presume to be the high pressure pump for the injection system) and it has the same gunk on the bottom and the hose underneath that as well(that I presume is part of the EGR system)

My questions are: is this the high pressure pump and how can I tell if it's leaking oil or diesel?
I'll have to clean it to see if it's actually leaking or just an old leak that was fixed and never cleaned (had the car for 2 years now).

Well, I can confirm it's the high pressure pump. Most diesels seem to ooze a bit and if it's not major i'd live with it.

But it is oil leaking around the oil-seal from the pump drive, and not diesel, or is it?
I'll clean it and keep an eye on it for now, thank you for the reply.

No worries, i'd have thought if it was diesel it would make more of a mess so may well be the seal between the pump & cyl head.
