well let me say that i am glad i got a box for my 1,3 panda. It gives the car impressive accleration in every gear and makes life above 140kph easy and diesel saving!

but be aware not to ajust your box to high, it causes the clutch to slip...

im thinking of making this one of the faster panda`s ;) im hoping to soon be able to get a more powerfull clutch and mount a bigger front mounted intercooler + get it made propperly with an OBD tuning.

Hello,

I am new to the site. I own a Panda 1.3 JTD and i am getting it chip tuned next week. It should get +30 HP! Look at the www.digitaltuning.ch.

Also I would like to hear, if someone knows, could 185/65 14" tires fit on standard panda alloys?

Will let You know about the tunning!!!

nice let me hear results ;)
and if you get a suden boost at 2500rpm!
i have disconected mine now untill a more powefull clutch is fitted

As I wrote I did the chip tuning on my multijet Panda.

It really goes as hell! I still can't believe in the difference before and after the tuning. It was about 450 EUR and it is worth every one EURO!

I was racing with chip tuned Golf IV tdi and I left him a few lenghts of my Panda behind on some 400 - 500 meters!

It is a crazy car now!

Nice to hear !
how about the boost? do you get i at 2500rpm?
at my calc. it should be around 0-100km/h 11.3 maby... it is almost as fast as a fiat stilo 115hp JTD ;)

0 to 100kph in 11.3 seconds. Cor, what a rocket ship

Nice to hear these little beasties can be tuned up, but please keep things in perspective guys. Best fun in a little car like the Panda is that people just expect to be able to overtake you and finding out they can't, but you are never going to win many drag races if the other driver is actually trying hard.

Example: I used to have an Audi A6 1.8T. 150hp and officially a 0-60 in around the same time as the Panda. The Audi would slaughter the Panda in any speed at any gear. The Panda is still more fun though.

P.S. I did leave a Suzuki Cappucino behind up a long 2 mile hill on the A404 yesterday, and that was 2 up pulling away at 50mph in 4th gear. Mind you, I could have done the same on my mountain bike and a mile float did pass us while doing it.

Hang on a minute! Impressive reading, but something sticks out that I think you will like (y) :

Going from a 12.5 second standard 0-60 time to 11.3 second 0-60 time with 30 extra bhp - that does not sound right at all. 1.2 seconds gain?! way too low.

I think you should time it and you will be very suprised. Adding 20bhp and 35 nm extra torque to a standard Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 TDCI takes over 2 seconds off the 0-60 time (speedo checked with GPS and 4 runs in each direction).

You should EASILY be sub 10 second 0-60, and hounding the 100hp brigade if you set things up right.

Fit some wider alloys and good tyres to help get the power down and enjoy taunting your 100hp comrades.

Let us know how you get on!

The main problem with tuning the Panda MJET is the clutch and gearbox.
The clutch has a tendency to slip quite easily if tuned and the gearbox may not hold up for too long with if the engine is tuned too much, you have to remember that the gearbox (and clutch) is only build for a max torque of 150 nm, which is the reason for the slight detune of the MJET engine from 180 nm to 145 nm when compared to the Punto mk2 with the same engine.

And the official 0-100 kph is 13,0 sec and not 12,5 sec.

This was my understanding, but I have never found out why. It seems to suggest that a weaker gearbox/clutch had to be fitted if the Multijet could not be installed at even standard torque.

Or was it so the Panda could not outdrag the GP?

( always the cynic:D

I have never heard any thing official from Fiat, but perhaps it's a money saving thing. This way they only needed 1 gearbox for 3 engines (1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 MJET). I believe the gearbox in the 100HP is just a 6 speed version of the gearbox used with the other engines (and thus basically the same gearbox), as it's also limited to 150 nm.

And it could be the C514 made by Fiat Powertrain http://www.fptpowertrain.com/eng/applicazioni_automotive_cambi_eu_sa.htm#g30

Yes, it seems likely this is the box, perhaps its the C510 (rated at 206 max torque input) thats fitted to the Mk2B with the Multijet?
The C514 (rated at 150 max torque input) is a shorter box, perhaps its also something to do with this?
Great info and link Santa, its the first actual spec sheet I have seen for max torque on the gearboxes.

Regards

hmm i cant get that page to show anything else than the direct link .. when i push anything else i cant se any info only emty space.!

this is bull cr.... 206nm even from the GP 90hp ... what about the 105hp lancia 1,3 multijet... how can i check whats fits my engine!

my 11,3sek was not 0-60mph it was 0-100km/h with 2 people and a bit slipping clutch. (rember santa ;-)

Get it under 10 and you can come play with the big boys.. no twisty roads thanks :D

and you drive? put it in perspective! i work with wv audi seat skoda and some amg. have driven all models with almost any engine! compare to these and not even 6sek to 100 is fast! wow 1,8 turbo a3 wow think it was disapointing... the most over rated engine in the VAG company! the new 1,8 is so mutch more even with 3hp less! have driven 55AMG, 63AMG, audi R8, S8, S5, S4 ,S3, R32 golf and passat. w12-V10-V8-V6 toureg, V8 v6 Q7... i know whats fast! the point is that having a car that looks like a granny car and then pull away form all the wannabees. the panda standard 1,3 follow feks a golf 2 1,8 to 160+km/h

the most adrenaline i have ever had was driving a tuned fiat uno turbo! not the R8 or any audi :)

Good point about the other fiat product gearbox's.. the lancia Y and musa have power so what box do they use?
Maybe fiat will do a 90 6 speed HP as the 1.4 and 6 speed must come from the punto in any case..
