Hi my 04 1.2 fiat panda starts to hunt at idle ie i stop at some traffic lights and it starts to hunt. Wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be wrong with it . it is fine and all is smooth while driving it is just at idle.

When was it last serviced with plugs changed?

It had the wrong spark plugs in it the place i bought them from they where labled up wrong i should have look at them more closely before putting them in at the last service put some of the original fiat plugs in them and all is now fine.

I bought a set last service, I didn't notice at first (or second or third) but one of the gaps had closed up to almost nothing, looked like it'd been dropped at some point.

This made the car run like a bag of spanners, hunting, popping and banging on idle and chugging along when driven.

It served me right for not checking all of them, I checked the gap on the first, presumed they were all the same, so fitted them, D'oh!
