Anyone know if i can fit steering wheel audio controls to my 2008 eleganza fitted with standard double din blaupunkt? Local dealer says not possible but i reckon he a numptie! Think wiring harness would be ready to plug and play the wheel controls.Which models came as standard with them?Any ideas most welcome!Ta.:worship:

Don't know about fiat, but doing the same on my Caravelle involved a lot more than just swapping the wheel.
Well you thinking the dealer is a numpty would be wrong and the dealer would be correct
Regardless of wiring, which I think you'll find isn't there, for starters you'll need a new wheel, new clock spring and to be able to do a proxi alingment on the car. Not impossible for you to do perhap, but not something the dealer is able to do per say for different reasons
I doubt very much the Blaupunkt would be up to it tbh, unless there is a connection somewhere on the back specifically for this - AFAIK the stock radios are built to a price so they arent going to put in something they dont need, unless the 100hp has steering controls and the same radio? Even if the connection is there chances are the radio would need a software update to enable such a function. Do any Pandas have steering wheel controls? If so your best bet would probably be to change the wheel etc, and get an aftermarket headunit and the correct Canbus adaptor, etc. I would think you would probably have to play about a lot with the cars stereo loom as well to get it all to work. Probably more hassle than its worth.
TBH, I have steering controls on the fiesta but still find myself using the buttons on the radio itself more often than not. The buttons on the Panda stereo are in a good place anyways, unlike say the last model Astra where they were much lower.

Thanx guys. Difficult to reach stereo controls when driving.Not comfortable... Might put in aftermarket one with easier controls.Sony do one with a column mounted stick.Thank you again
