My little red MJ has been doing really well lately, despite freezing temperatures and grippy winter tyres:

(In pounds sterling, that's 74.3MPG)

The best thing is, I'm not even "hypermiling" or otherwise aggravating other motorists, I just go the speed limit and keep the revs in a sensible range.

Holy carcinogenic particulates batman, that's just about DOUBLE what we get from the 100hp. Kinda brings it home.

And here I was thinking I was alone in the world, KozmoNaut!
It really is an astonishing mark, given the cold weather. Mine averaged 3.9 l/100km (72.4 UK mpg) during December, and up until now is the same (it shows 4.0 l/100km though).

What's your best during the year? My best was 3.6 l/100km (78.5 mpg) during August, and 3.7-3.8 (76.3-74.3 mpg) during the rest of the year. These are all calculated values, usually the trip computer shows 0.3 l/100km more than real.

However, I must admit I drive slower than average (80 km/h - 50 mph). Maybe that's why most Portuguese people are bankrupt...

I haven't calculated it manually yet, but I've signed up for fuelly.com and will be tracking my mileage to see if it differs much from winter to summer.
