Hi

Long-time lurker, first-time poster wondering if anyone can shed some light on a problem I had this morning.

I have a '57' plate 1.3 Multijet with nearly 40,000 on the clock, this morning when I pulled away the car was taking an age to rev up, it was like I had no power at all. The car was running but struggled to get above 20mph. I pulled over, stopped the engine and tried again, same result. I tried to rev the car in neutral and even with my foot down the car was revving up very slowly. Spent one or two minutes with the engine idling looking through the handbook to see if it was anything obvious and when I tried to pull away again it was back to normal.

Any thoughts you guys have would be greatly appreciated so I don't knee-jerk and do something stupid.

Cheers

sounds a bit like damp in the ECU connectors, its a common fault that affects mutijets when they are cold in damp conditions.
To the left of the battery is the ECU and between that and the engine is the 2 connectors..just release the locking clips and pull the connectors up to separate them and give them a light spray with wd40 and then reconnect, dont be heavy handed with them as the pins are quite fine and make sure the clips are locked back in place when you are done.
hope this solves your problem

I will give that a go, thanks very much for replying.
