Hi Folks,

Hope someone can help....

My daughters 04 1.1 Panda is not delivering any heat......We got the car back in May and the heater has not been needed.....till this morning !

Temp gauge gets up to normal aftr 5 or so mins and sits bang in the middle. Blower fan is working fine. The difference between full cold setting and full hot setting is barely noticeable, if anything at all.

A search threw up some threads about bleeding, is there an idiots guide? Anything else to check? (like where are the bleeding screws !)

It does not have aircon.

Thanks !

Gerry

There are two bleed screws one on the radiator and another on a small hose to the right of your engine going into the firewall. I had a cold heater the other day went putting new coolant in. it was the top hose I used to get the air out.

bleed screw on rad.

Excellent ! Thanks :)

No wonder I could'nt see it!

Temp gauge sits on normal, right in the middle after 5mins. Water level in the header tank is probably a little high, the fluid level is in the long neck.....

I let it warm up then bled the heater hose, does not look like any air coming out and the water is HOT, did it a few times, same result.

The heater is at best, luke warm... :( :( :(

Should I drain down and carefully refill? No idea when the anitfreeze was last changed so I guess it would be a good idea anyway....

My girl won't make it thro the winter without a heater :)

Thanks !

ehhh, hope not ! not a connection I've heard.....last head gasket I blew, (Fiat 127 :) ) I had a cloud of steam that blotted out the street !

I'm still hopin its air....

Drained down today, undid the heater pipe at the valve and flushed it thro till it ran clear from the block. Refilled, bled and tried the heater.......and its pretty warm.

Result :)

Thanks all !
