Evening all.

I'm hoping someone can help !

I've been using the cigar lighter - auxillary socket in Nupanda for months to run SatNav and electric tyre pump. However, today whilst adding some air to the tyres the pump stopped. So, I rtfm and checked the fuse F44 iirc. There is no fuse ! Also there appears to be only 1 metal clip instead of 2 where the fuse would slot

Upon further investigation it appears that all the fuses in use have 2 metal insert clips for the fuse and the fuses which are not used only have 1 !

So, did FIAT forget to add a fuse holder for my cigar lighter - auxillary socket, or could this be fused somewhere else ? Ive checked everything else and nothing has stopped working. She's a 55 active (2006 model)

Not too sure whether removing one of the metal clip things in a unused fuse slot and bunging it where I appear to be missing one will work ? If this would work, does anyone have one they could send me ?? . . in return for a small donation to FF I'd be very grateful as I don't really want to start taking the fuse box apart.

I've seriously not been on the wine or anything else for that matter and the socket has been working since March !

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks all.

The cig lighter socket was dropped on the later Active models (unless specified when buying AFAIK). The wiring to the socket was still left in the loom, but the wiring, fuse and relay were removed from the fusebox as you have found out.

Some people have modified their cars by wiring in a seperate fuse and connecting it to the cig socket wiring. The only problem is finding where they have positioned the new fuse. I did one for a customer and secured the fuse in it's own holder next to the small interior fusebox by the drivers knee. Whoever did yours may have done the same.

its in the engine bay fuse box,its the flourescent yellow 20 amp one,the only flourescent yellow on i think .

Thanks, I will have a look tomorrow and see whether there is 'an odd' fuse in that fuse box. The socket is illuminated and appears to be a genuine fit/afterfit from fiat, so for the sake of a few pence I'm at a loss as to why they didn't leave the gubbins in.

Mmmmm the plot thickens . . . Found a fuse for the cigar lighter, rather sensibly underneath the actual socket (10 amp and not blown). When I remove this the socket is still illuminated so I guess this is the fuse I'm looking for . . . still no nearer working out why the socket now chooses to 'cease to function'.

:confused::confused::(:confused::confused:

It's possible the fuse for whatever circuit they cut into has blown. Might take a bit of detective work to see what else isn't working and go from there.

For there to be a fuse under the lighter socket, it shows it's not a genuine factory-fit.

Checked everything and everything works !

Had a think about it over a cup of Tea and it hit me . . . it must be a fuse lower than the 10 Amp one under the socket as that hadn't blown. . .

F49 WAS THE OFFENDER ! the fuse for the electric sunroof (which Nupanda doesn't have) had blown its 7.5 Amp fuse. It was the only fuse in upside down and there was a spare stuck on the passenger compartment fuse cover . . . Don't you love it when you can repair something for £0.00 and a bit of forum advice.

Thanks :)
