Hi everyone, I posted a thread about how much I love the Panda, and wish I'd brought one a few weeks back after getting one as a loan car. Well now I might be able to get one, I'll explain.....
I own a 54 reg Punto Active Sport (Which I like, don't get me wrong) I phoned up DBS Desira in Bury St Edmunds, who gave me the Panda when doing some warranty work. The reason I phoned them was to see if they would give me a good deal on a Fiat Panda Eleganza, whilst trading in the Punto. The gentleman I spoke to offered me £5700 for the Punto (Which I only paid £7000 for) I said this was a bit low for a car that is only 5 months old. After some bartering, he agree to give me 0% finance and a height adjustable seat for free! So with the 0% finance, and the adjustable seat it works out that I'm getting around £7000 (including what I would have paid in interest) for a car that I paid just that for 5 months ago! And the Panda will be on an 05 plate, and brand new!
Now the question is, do you think I should go for it? It will cost around 25 quid more a month, but I'm won over by the Panda!

0% finance...... (y) Cant beat it.

If when you drove the Panda you thought it felt like a step up from the Punto in terms of build/interior etc (likely  ) then go for it.

Remember the new Punto isnt far off. You'll get the Panda and when that goes in for a service they'll give you a new Punto courtesy car- dont go thinking ooohh I like this!!

I couldn't afford the new Punto, It's going to be a lot more to buy than the old one. I'll be happy with my Panda (And hopefully with no model change for at least a couple of years....)

I wouldn't say comfortably afford it, but I've in love with the Panda. Sad eh? I just hope it's better built then the Punto (Even though the Punto's fixed now) Is there anything I should look for on a new Panda?

Sorry to double post, but it seems I won't be getting a Panda now. I'm totally gutted. It seems that the salesman that I've been dealing with has made a cock-up with the deal he offered me. It's turns out that I will have to put down a sizeable deposit to get the same deal. He's phoning me tomorrow to try and sort something out, I doubt this will come to anything though. I'm off to go cry now, thanks for all your help anyway.

Sorry to hear this, we like a happy story now and again.
It sounds like the salesman or his manager are the ones that need putting down!
Can we go there and leave a sizable deposit on him for you?

Be my guess mate :) He still hasn't phoned back, so I don't know if I can have the car or not. The sad thing is, he's name is Joe Desira of DBS DESIRA, so he should know what he's going on about
