Hi,

We bought our Panda nearly new about 5 months ago .

It's my Mrs car so I rarely go in it. However today I noticed the covering on the handbrake handle, is blistering on the forward edge closest to the passenger seat?? Obviously I am going to take it the dealer for them to look at( has anyone else had this?), but with this and the bloody dash squeak/rattle (been in with this and it hasn't been sorted) does anyone have any pointers on this? I do wonder if I chose the wrong manufacturer lol.

Sounds similar to the steering wheel problem others have mentioned on hree

In the dealer as I type having the dash rattle (amongst other thing) fixed. From the reaction of the service manager the rattle seems a common problem.

I hope they sort it. I posted about my fiasco with my dash rattle. Sorted eventually with the entire dash removal. Mine wasn't the same as deeyup's loose heater matrix, mine was the dashboard mounting bracket packing either wears through or I suspect isn't correctly fitted from the factory. It's been fine since.

Not heard or seen any handbrake issue.

They do seem to have silly little issues. Fiat should sort the little things rather than messing about with the cross version of the 4x4 which I guess will still have the same 'little' issues.

Common issues seem to be: start stop, brake squeak and dash rattles.

I thought my start stop was sorted until it just didn't start after it had correctly stopped at temporary traffic lights. I have a theory though. I wonder if the start stop correctly cuts the engine, then while you're sat still in the queue with the radio on, etc. The battery voltage drops enough to describe start stop so it then fails to even try to start the car. What we need is a really keen fiat technician to try and replicate that scenario.
