Last couple of days, starting from a completely cold engine for about a second or two once the engines started theres like a rattle (clutch always depressed when engine started so not gearbox). I checked oil on dipstick, apart from being darker in colour than usual (not sure if I should read into this) its about 3/4 full. The noise completely stops and remains silent once the engine is running and driving. Starting the engine when its warm doesn't cause the rattle either.
I wouldn't usually worry, odd rattles and noises are pretty normal but its not a nice noise at all, I don't know if its something like oil pressure not getting oil to the top of the engine quick enough?

Its probably down to oil draining out of the bearings overnight, then you will get a brief knock / rattle until pressure builds up and the oil starts to circulate. Might you be due an oil change ?

Replace oil fiter for branded one not made in China.

Prabably antu drain back valve inside filter does not operate as should, plus oil change as well.

Yep, I had exactly the same with a cheap filter on mine. Replaced with a proper brand (Fram/MANN) and all has been fine. It's not doing the bearings much good if its left!
