I have a 1997 palio 1.6 16v.
It has been turning off every time I come to a stop, generally when it is downhill, the car just turns off when I take it to neutral gear, and are braking.

What can it be?
Also, in the morning when cold, it turns off, I have to turn it on again and reeve it, then it won't turn off

Anybody nows what my problem is?

I used to have the sabe problem, but just when starting... I checked the butterflyes and that's it...

I hope that the problem will be with the throttle position sensor...... Note: In ideal speed after warming up the engine the throttle position sensor must have to be adjusted in such a way that its out put must have to be within 1.2 to 1.5 volts.

Another source also cause the same error that is actuator ..... The faulty actuator also causes the same problem...... You say it is also happening in cold too…. so what I think is it will be surely an Actuator…….. anyhow also check the throttle position sensor......

if the car switches off as soon as you press the brake pedal, try taking out the fuse of brake lights, if the car does not switch off upon braking, it may be the ignition switch.

when you say the engine turns off, does it stop as though you have turned the ignition off and no lights come on the dash,or does it stop in a stutter and put the lights on the dash say.?if its the first, you have an ignition problem[possible ig switch or coil amplifier].if its the second one,you have a sensor problem like a coolant temp sensor or an idle control valve problem.when cold if the revs go up and down when idling, its the coolant temp sensor.
