This is the 1965 Fiat 1500 raced by Carlos Reutemann which won the 1966 and 1967 World rally championships in Argentina.
It was also campaigned after the 1966 and 1967 wins, originally Left hand drive and factory Fiat metallic blue with white stripe and racing number 53.
It was exported to the UK in early 1970's and road registered with registration number: TOB437H
Chassis number: 1150725992
Engine number: 115C000573967
It was later exported to Australia in late 1980 and was converted to Right hand drive then driven in Appendix J Historic motor racing with CAMS historic log book.
It has many layers of paint liveries on it.
Its last race was 1998, then it sat abandoned for 16 years on a farm in Oakdale NSW Australia.
The Historic Fiat is now being preserved in its original as found condition.
It is currently British racing green with yellow stripe and racing number 36.
The photos show its life history from 1965 being driven by Carlos Reutemann up until its last races in Australia and as it was found abandoned in 2015.
I hope members will enjoy the photos.

Thanks for posting these pics. It is great to see this car has been discovered again - will it come back to life?

I currently have a Fiat 1500 that I converted to 1600 twin cam back in the 90s.

Before that my friend and I started making a manifold to suit twin down draft carbs on the 1500 engine.

Before finishing it, I came across a side draft 40 manifold that had been made by Jimmy Guilfoyle in Melbourne. We modified an 850 distributor to sit a bit higher and clear the carbs. I still have the manifold and modified distributor in a box in my garage...

Hi there.
Not sure if you are in Melbourne Australia?
Yes the Fiat will come back to life, in fact the engine has been checked over and it will be cosmetically cleaned up and left in its original condition.
The engine and gearbox is a full racing build done by Rob Rowe at Amaroo park Annangrove NSW in the mid 1990's.
Its producing around 170hp with the twin down draught webber carbs.
Are you interested in parting with your manifold etc?

Hi

I tried sending an email message via the forum

I am in Canberra now... And happy to consider an offer on the manifold, distributor, spacer and linkage set up

If you click on my user name you can send a private message via the forum

Cheers
